Cutting + cloning: what duplication actually involves
Duplicating a modern car key is two jobs in one. First, key cutting — shaping the metal blade so it physically turns your door and ignition. Second, cloning or programming the chip — copying the transponder code so the car's immobilizer accepts the new key. Skip the second step and the car won't start, no matter how perfectly the blade is cut.
This is the one page on our site where “key cutting” lives, because cutting only makes sense as part of duplication: with your original key in hand, we copy the blade exactly and clone the chip in the same visit.

When to duplicate (and when it's too late)
Duplicate when you still have a working key — that's the sweet spot. Bought a second-hand import that came with one key? Get a duplicate before the single key fails. Handing the car to a spouse or driver? Each gets their own. Preparing for a long desert road trip? Two keys, no discussion.
Once the only key is lost, it's no longer duplication — it's a full replacement from scratch, which takes more time. That's exactly why we keep saying: make the spare now.

How do I get a spare car key made in Dubai?
Call or WhatsApp us with your car's make, model and year. We come to you, cut the key blade, and clone or program the chip so the spare works exactly like the original. You test it before you pay.
Can you duplicate a key without the original?
That's not duplication — that's an all-keys-lost replacement. We do that too (see our car key replacement page), but it's more work. If you still have one working key, duplication is faster and cheaper.
Is it cheaper to duplicate than to replace a lost key?
Much cheaper. With a working key in hand we can clone the chip directly instead of rebuilding from the car's immobilizer data. Always make the spare while you still have the original.
Can you clone a smart key for push-button start cars?
Yes. We program the duplicate fob to the car just like a new key. Lock, unlock and engine start are all tested on the spot.
Can you cut a key from the door lock code?
On many models, yes — key cutting codes let us cut an exact blade even if your original key is worn. But for electronic duplication we still need at least one working key or we do a full replacement.
How many spare keys should I have?
At least two working keys total. Keep one at home and one with you. For families, a third key for your spouse avoids constant key-swapping.
